Today we celebrate 39 years of the commitment we made to God to be together until death do us part. We have had our ups and downs over the years. The ups have out weighed the downs. Marriage is alot of work, but I think mainly it is commitment and forgiveness and alot of laughter. In the marriage vows there should be a promise not only to love and honor, but to laugh together.
We are combining corn today. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful sunny, warm day. We had other plans, but the combiner could come today, so we combine--such is farming.

As farm wives we learn early that the farm work must be done--it is part of our commitment to the farmers we married. We are only a couple years behind you. We have been married 36 years. Sometimes I think people give up too easily and don't think of the commitment they made before God. There are times we may not like our spouses very much. But, we still love them.

ReplyDeleteA Happy Anniversary to you and your best fellow! Being married to a railroader, I sometimes spent anniversaries and birthdays alone but there are things that you must do. What is important is being together most of the time and having the good times outweigh the not so good ones. We had 48 years together and were married 61 years ago. Time goes go by quickly. Congratulations! We've had similar anniversaries, but we are passionate about our lifestyle, and each other, and life is good! Hope you were able to take time out to watch the sunset together over the combine!
